If you find fast, slippery downhill putts difficult to control, you might want to listen to Phil Mickelson’s short game swing coach Dave Pelz.

If you find fast, slippery downhill putts difficult to control, you might want to listen to Phil Mickelson’s short game swing coach Dave Pelz.

Pelz beleives the baest way to take the sting out of these tough putts is to choke down on the grip of your putter (your hand should almost be contact with the metal) and then make your normal stroke.

Chocking down will have the effect of shortening your shaft, decreasing your club-head speed and softening the blow of the putter head on the ball.
