Chip into hollows, not humps

When chipping onto an uneven or undulating green, always carefully examine it so as to find the best possible landing places.

When chipping onto an uneven or undulating green, always carefully examine it so as to find the best possible landing places.
Avoid humps and seek hollows where ever possible for in doing this you will minimize your chipping errors.
Humps will cause chips that are too long to kick and run away from it and chips that are too short to stop quickly without any roll.
Hollows, on the other hand, will help stop those chips that are too long, or kick forward and help the short shots run nearer the hole.
