Paul Casey is set to tee off at the US PGA Championship in Minnesota after all, his manager confirmed on Thursday.
The world number three has been struggling with a strained intercostal muscle in his ribcage, and was forced to withdraw from last week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after playing just six holes of his first round at Firestone Country Club.
Casey has been receiving treatment every day since and played nine holes in a practice round at Hazeltine National on Wednesday.
Guy Kinnings, his manager at IMG, said the Englishman would reassess his condition in the morning, but the intention was that the English star would make his tee time at 7.45am local time (1.45pm BST) on the 10th tee alongside American Nick Watney and Hiroyuki Fujita of Japan.
