Calvin Klein, best known as a high fashion brand in clothing and other luxury goods including bags, shoes and accessories, is set to expand into golf.
The Phillips-Van Heusen Corp announced on Thursday that its Calvin Klein subsidiary had entered into a licensing agreement with Windsong Sport LLC to manufacture and distribute a new line of men’s and women’s golf apparel and accessories.
To be marketed under the Calvin Klein Golf brand name, the hush, hush new range is to be previewed for the first time at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, this week and will be launched into the market place later this year on a date to be announced.
Within the first year, the clothing giant said, the line will be sold through some 250 of the US’s top golf specialty outlets, including at country clubs and luxury resorts.
By spring 2008, it is hoped that it will have expanded across the United States and overseas.
