The Molinari brothers are one hole up on Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar through five holes as they bid to claim their first Ryder Cup point.

The Italians narrowly lost their opening foursomes match on Saturday but have made a fast start to their fourball match against the in-form Georgians.

Cink and Kuchar are unbeaten after two matches and Kuchar holed a monster birdie putt on the first green to give them the early advantage.

But Francesco Molinari hit straight back at the second with a birdie four and followed that up with a two at the par-three next.

The fourth and fifth were halved before darkness closed in, with the match to be resumed on Sunday morning.
