Welshwoman Becky Brewerton was in sparkling form today (Sunday)as she stormed home to a six-stroke victory at the Open de Espana Feminino.
Brewerton, 26, shot a final round of 70 for an 18-under-par 270 total in Castellon.
That was enough for her to finish six clear of compatriot Breanne Loucks, Diana Luna of Italy and the Spanish pair of Tania Elosegui and Emma Cabrera-Bello.
For Brewerton it was the first Ladies European Tour win since the 2007 Ladies English Open and earned her a place at next week’s Evian Masters in France.
“I’m so, so happy,” she said.
“To have such a big lead at the start was nice because it was a little bit nervy at the end when the wind was gusting up. It was a brilliant week.”
