Bare lies – use your lob wedge

Home

When confronted with a tight or bare lie, the best club to use for pitching or chipping to the green is the lob wedge.

When confronted with a tight or bare lie, the best club to use for pitching or chipping to the green is the lob wedge.
This because there is little or no bounce on it’s sole and the leading edge of it’s lofted face fits more easily and comfortable under the ball.
Play the ball off the back foot and be careful not to hit it in the teeth (the most common fault).
Remember too that because the lob wedge’s loft (60 degrees and more) is greater than that of a sand wedge, use a fuller swing than you would with your sand wedge.
