A great mother’s day gift

With women’s golf continuing to grow at a pace and with Mother’s Day coming up, Nicklaus Golf believe their Compri range might make a great gift.
The new line is not your everyday range of women’s clubs, though. Instead it has a unique configuration of three woods, three hybrids and three irons.
There is also a matching putter and fashionable golf bag, but these are available separately.
The new Compri women’s range, Nicklaus Golf Equipment has gone to great pains to stress, uses the latest technology to help make the game easier, especially for beginners and mid to high handicap golfers
Each club in the set, a company spokesman said, has higher than normal lofts, making it easier for the woman to get their shots airborne more quickly and easily
For example, in the three woods, the set consists of an oversized titanium driver with a 15 degree loft; a three wood of 19 degrees and a five wood of 24 degrees.
The Hybrids set consists of a No 6 at 28 degrees; a 7 at 34 degrees and an 8 at 40 degrees.
The Irons come in a set that includes a No 9 at 46, a pitching wedge at 50 and a sand wedge at 54 degrees.
Made only for right-handed players at this stage, all clubs comer with graphite ultra light flex shafts which help to generate more distance and accuracy.
The fairway woods are all oversized and generously offset with high lofts that place the point of impact under the center of the ball for a quick, high-ball launch from any lie.
“The women’s market is important to the growth of golf,” Tony Dabbs, product manager for Nicklaus Golf said this week when announcing the addition of the Compri range to the Nicklaus Signature Collection. “While there are many options for women to choose from, the Compri was especially designed to help new women golfers have an easier time learning the game and advancing their skill levels.
“Our research shows that one of the most frustrating aspects of golf in general, and in particular with new golfers, is getting the ball airborne and moving it toward the green.
“Compri was designed with that in mind – and I think our product will not only be effective, it will also be appealing to the eye,” added Dabbs after disclosing that a touch of pink has been added to every item in the range, including the bag.
Sold as part of the Nicklaus Premium Golf line, the suggested retail price for the Compri set of nine clubs excluding the putter and the bag is $499.99 in the US
