The golf clubs Nick Taylor used to win the Phoenix Open
Nick Taylor produced a clutch performance to win the Phoenix Open in a playoff.
Taylor says he took confidence from his last outing at Scottsdale.
“I think last year was a huge stepping stone in my career to play with Rahm and Scottie in the final group (at the WM), one, two in the world and really stand my own … gave me a lot of confidence,” Taylor said after his win.
“So to ride that the rest of the year and win my national Open in the fashion that I did was incredible. It’s been fun to be in those moments. I think last year I drew a lot on for the Canadian Open and I’ve drawn on that for plenty of moments, as well. For whatever reason it is, the later it gets, I just seem to get a little more locked in and zoned in and kind of relish those moments, and it’s been a lot of fun.”
Off the tee, Taylor uses a Titleist TSi3 (10 degrees) to go long. He also has a Titleist TSi2 (15 degrees) 3-wood and deploys both a 5-wood and a hybrid.
For his 5-wood he turns to the TaylorMade SIM2 Max (18 degrees) while his hybrid comes from the Titleist range in the TSR2 (21 degrees).
His irons are a blend of Titleist T100s and T200s. He uses a T200 4-iron while his 5-9 iron is covered by the T100 range.
Taylor has added two new Titleist Vokey Design SM10 wedges to go with his trusty 58-degree wedge which is still from the Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks family.
The Phoenix Open winner uses a TaylorMade Spider Tour Red putter.
