Mini Drivers: the club trend of 2025 and we pick three of the best

Mini drivers are the club of 2025.
They have a smaller head and shorter shaft than the conventional driver which makes them easier to control with little loss of distance.
Higher handicap golfers maybe won’t like that smaller face but it remains a great option and one increasingly added to bags.
Let’s have a look at three of the best out there.
What do Titleist have to offer?
The GT280 which is new to their range and prides itself on being an all-round option that is exceptionally adaptable.
It has the well established good look of Titleist (black with just a touch of red) and it’s adjustability will make it popular with better players.
A key feature is the small head which gives it great playability from the fairway – one of the great advantages of this increasingly popular club.
The flipside of that is that some golfers probably thrive on the big heads of the modern normal driver.
They won’t appreciate what might feel like a return to the days of smaller drivers.
That, again, is a reason why better golfers will prefer the GT280.
It’s the most expensive option at £459.
Do Callaway have an option?
In a word – yes.
The Elyte is their mini driver and it fits into the new range of Elyte drivers from Callaway.
Unlike the small head of the Titleist GT280 it has the more modern large head so works as both a mini driver and also an option up against the driver itself.
Elyte has won a lot of admirers this year with it look which is sleek and features green detailing.
As with all the Elyte range this mini driver has excellent adjustable options.
While lots of mid-range golfers will enjoy using the Elyte mini driver from the tee they maybe won’t enjoy hitting it from the fairway.
It is priced £449.
And what about TaylorMade?
Of course, yes – TaylorMade has the R7 Quad.
It is a modern iteration of the their first wave of adjustable weighted drivers.
Black with yellow and red details it looks fantastic.
That adjustable weighting is on the base of the club to help with Moment of Inertia and launch angle – there are four ports.
Callaway’s Twist Face and Thru Slot Speed Pocket allow the club to keep your blows straight.
It’s an incredibly reliable club with distance.
It’s a great club and the cheapest of these three at £379.
