Adidas Originals made a return to golf during the Masters and one player in particular made headlines by wearing the famous designs for the first time since the 1980s.

Ludvig Aberg sported the all-new Adidas Originals golf range including brand new Adidas Gazelle Golf shoes. The new spikeless shoes are based on the Gazelle silhouette and add drop-in EVA cushioning and a waterproof suede upper.

The range, which features the return of the classic Adidas Trefoil logo, also includes a Coursecup shoe inspired by the 1986 Golf Cup model, sweater-knit polo shirts featuring the famous Adidas three stripes design, golf carry bags, towels, leather gloves and full and quarter zip jackets in both men and women’s versions. There are also Adidas Originals dresses in the women’s range.

Adidas has limited the colours of the entire range to just blues, whites, greens and yellows and they was showcased by Aberg at Augusta National. Both are now on sale in both the US and the UK.

Dylan Moore, Senior Creative Director of adidas Golf said: “The adidas Trefoil logo was first introduced in 1972 and represents the convergence of fashion and culture through sport. As we examined our roots in the game, we were inspired by the ways we pushed fashion on the course in the 70s and 80s and felt the time was right to reintroduce styles for golfers that are influenced by the fashion and culture of today.”

Aberg showed a mix of style and substance at Augusta, finishing in solo seventh.
