First look 2025: get the lowdown on the new Callaway Elyte X driver

Matt Cooper

Callaway have been setting the bar high for driving the ball.

For years they have been rightly proud of their driver technology and it would have been easy for the company to sit back and take the plaudits.

Instead they plunged over $2 million into new research and development.

The result is the new Elyte range and it is not a letdown.

As they announce themselves: “The Future of performance is Elyte.”

The industry has been agog at the new drivers and we’re going to take you through the four different models.

We’ve dealt with Elyte so what is Elyte X all about?

The Elyte X is the model in this new range with the maximum forgiveness.

It also features high launch.

Essentially it is for golfers who need a little more assistance from the tee box.

Can it be adjusted as well?

Yes, the X model has two setting – one for neutral and another for draw settings. The adjustable weight is, like the Elyte, 13g.

To further help on the tee, Elyte X has a matte carbon crown and a chevron on the topline to inspire confidence off the tee with alignment.

How does it help with speed of swing?

As with the Elyte, we’re talking faster speed courtesy of enhanced shaping.

The all-new Elyte X shape gives improved aerodynamics for sensational speed throughout the entire swing.

Moreover, the improved shape maximizes swing speed with improved forgiveness and launch conditions.

And the materials – we’re talking high-spec?

Absolutely. This is future of composites stuff.

The Elyte X driver has an all-new Thermoforged carbon crown.

This is aerospace grade carbon fiber that enables helps generate fast head speeds while optimizing launch and spin.

About what about Ai?

Distance, control and launch have all been improved by Ai.

This is Callaway’s most advanced Ai face to date.

The new Ai10x face delivers 10x more control points than the Ai Smart Face™.

It is designed to produce exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimized launch across the face.

And finally, what about the details?
