COBRA LAUNCH BIGGEST GUN EVER
Cobra Golf has announced the launch of the King Cobra L4V, the most “technologically advanced driver” it has ever made.
Cobra Golf has announced the launch of the King Cobra L4V, the most “technologically advanced driver” it has ever made.
The L4V name stands for the ‘Limit 4 Variables’, Cobra states, “because this revolutionary new driver is designed right up to the limit of four USGA-defined performance variables:
– Maximum COR (.830)
– Maximum head dimensions (5″by <5")
- Maximum volume (460cc), and
-Maximum inertia or MOI.
"The L4V driver line is a direct result of Cobra's commitment to developing the industry's highest performing drivers via innovative, advanced design and technology," Jeff Harmet, the President of Cobra Golf and Titleist Clubs said in the announcement.
He added that the new Cobra L4V drivers would be shipped to the company's regular retailers from November 1, 2007 at a suggested retail selling price of $480.00
MORE ABOUT THE LIMIT 4 VARIABLES:
Maximum MOI: The ultra-lightweight carbon composite crown and sole section, along with high-density tungsten back weighting, work together to shift the weight low and back, generating a Moment of Inertia up to 5900. The result is that the L4V has the highest MOI of any driver Cobra has ever built.
It is also the highest MOI ever allowed by the USGA and what this means is that you get less clubhead twisting at impact, promoting more power and forgiveness on off-center hits.
Maximum size: Clubhead dimensions have a strict limit of 5″ by <5". By taking the dimension variable to the limit, Cobra engineers have pushed the weight low and back, resulting in a higher launch and longer drives.
Maximum COR: Cobra’s patented Dual Rhombus Face insert technology, combined with the largest face area in golf, optimizes face flex to provide maximum COR across the clubface for the ultimate in ball speed and distance.
Maximum volume: Cobra has also taken clubhead volume to the limit. At 460 cubic centimeters, the L4V offers maximum power and forgiveness.
COMMENT: Cobra have for the past few years been producing drivers that hit the ball significently longer distances than most of their rivals. We can’t wait to get our hands on their latest master blaster.
