Yorkshire grit won out over local knowledge when eight of the QHotels, managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels, golf venues clashed at Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort in a battle for the Q Cup, a competition for the members and officials at each club.
Oulton Hall's Robin Godden, Jeff Graham, Justin Holmes and Cameron Owen, won on countback from their contemporaries at Telford Hotel & Golf Resort and the host club – represented by Simon Parrott, Jean Cook, Ricky Maxfield and Jean Walker – with all three fourballs scoring 79 points over the championship layout.
The group's golf operations manager, Andrew Cameron, said: "This is an annual event which gets the group's resorts together in one venue to compete in a friendly, yet competitive, environment. This was the closest event yet with the top three venues being separated by countback.
"Congratulations to the guys from Oulton Hall – they got to select the venue for the event in 2018 and chose Mottram Hall, who will certainly be looking to improve on their performance this year …," he smiled.
