In 2009 no golfer played all 16 rounds in the four major championships and took fewer strokes than England's Ross Fisher. He had every chance to win two of those titles - the US Open and Open Championship - but don't overlook his performance at Hazeltine in the PGA where he finished 19th and only one player hit more greens in regulation than he did all week. Those statistics reveal much about Fisher: he is a world-class ball-striker with a weakness on the greens. The first half of 2010, perhaps unsurprisingly, was a letdown after such a fine 2009, but a second placed finish in the BMW International boosted his confidence, as did a top 10 in the Scottish Open. But a poor Open led to him changing caddie - his old friend Adam leaving the bag, Ian Woosnam's one-time bagman Wobbly joining him. They promptly won first-time out together in the Irish Open and will be heading to Whistling Straits in confident mood.
