Twelve months ago Fisher went into the final round of the Open Championship with two massive moments on his mind: he was not only in contention for the Claret Jug, he was also waiting for his wife to go into labour. One bad hole early in his round smashed his Open dreams and the call to hospital came a few days later. Nonetheless 2009 was a superb year in the majors for the Englishman - no player completed all 16 rounds and scored lower than he did. 2010 has been a huge letdown until he finally rediscovered some form in the BMW International when finishing second. Given that he has also finished second in the Dunhill Links Championship, is a winner of the KLM Open on the Kennemer links and was also in contention at Royal Birkdale (going into the final round in fifth), you have to like his chances. A long, high-hitting, quality ball-striker his only weakness is with the putter. But a good week on the greens would make him a very strong contender.
