He's the biggest hitter on the PGA Tour but he is no one-trick-pony and, more to the point, he knows exactly how to play at Pebble Beach. In fact, he has played the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am just three times and has a stunning record: seventh in 2008, winner in both 2009 and 2010. That first win was somewhat diminished because the final round was washed out but he arrived on the Monterrey Peninsula earlier this year determined to prove he would have won anyway - and promptly blew the field away again. Many doubt that he can win again in the different, tougher conditions he will face during a US Open week but perhaps he will be motivated to prove the nay-sayers wrong again. His form is solid (he was seventh at Las Colinas last month) and he knows how to win, as three victories in just 70 PGA starts proves. If he is to be found out at his favourite course it is likely to be because of a slightly reckless approach and a short game that currently lacks a bit of finesse.
