With two PGA Tour wins in 2008, a starring role in the Ryder Cup and a surge into the top ten of the world rankings, Anthony Kim headed into 2009 with the golfing world at his feet. He kept the good times rolling with a tied second place in the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship, but since then it's been something of a struggle for the 23-year-old. Injury and illness rather hampered his build-up to the Masters, while a couple of starts on the European Tour produced modest results too - 33rd in the Malaysian Open and 25th at the Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth. But he responded to finish a creditable 20th at Augusta including a memorable second round of 65. However, Kim has done nothing in the months that have followed and missed the halfway cut in two of his last four outings. Such is the American's prodigious talent it would seem unwise to rule him out in New York, but Kim will have to rediscover his 'A Game' and quick if he is to challenge this week.
