The 39-year-old enjoyed a wonderfully consistent 2008, amassing no fewer than 12 top tens en route to the European Order of Merit crown, three of them coming at the first three majors of the year - The Masters, the US Open and the Open Championship. A stellar campaign was capped off by back-to-back victories at the Mercedes-Benz and Alfred Dunhill Links Championships, whilst he also performed admirably in Europe's Ryder Cup defeat. Last year's Masters was only his second appearance at Augusta, the Swede having finished tied for 30th on his 2007 debut. While his start to 2009 has not yet seen him hit the heights, Karlsson has served notice that he has the ability and temperament to challenge for the game's biggest prizes. The Swede put last season's spectacular form down to a more relaxed attitude and if he can maintain it throughout 2009, it could be the year he joins the Major winners' club.
