The Dubai-based Swede has developed into one of the most consistent performers not only in European, but world golf in recent seasons. Back in the world's top ten after a solid start to 2009, Stenson has all the attributes to do well at Augusta, but his record there is modest at best having finished tied for 17th for the last two years and missed the cut in his debut outing in 2006. Indeed, his overall Major record used to inspire little confidence, but that was before last year's Open Championship when he followed a top-three finish at Royal Birkdale with a fourth-place at the USPGA Championship. However, he has not won on either the European or PGA Tour since his WGC-Accenture Match Play triumph in 2007 and, despite no fewer than ten top-10s in 2008 and three more so far in 2009, that statistic must be becoming a little worrying for the 32-year-old. There is no doubting Stenson has the ability to challenge at Augusta, but everything will have to go for him to open his Major account.
