Ryder Cup memories
Help us recreate the glory and agony of Ryder Cups past
Nothing can quite capture the unique atmosphere of the Ryder Cup and its fans.
With October's encounter between Europe and the USA at the Celtic Manor Resort getting ever closer, we want to hear what it's like to be part of the galleries roaring on your team.
Drop us a line using the form below to tell us about any interesting stories or vivid memories you have from Ryder Cups past.
Perhaps you were at Walton Heath in 1981 and saw Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson inspire the USA to a convincing victory.
Or maybe you were lucky enough to witness the Battle of Brookline in 1999, Monty's winning putt at Oakland Hills or the Nicklaus' famous concession of Tony Jacklin's putt in 1969?
Don't forget you'll be able to watch all the action as Europe try to win back the trophy live and exclusively on Sky Sports.

23rd September 2006.....standing on the 14th hole on the stunning Palmer course in Straffan Co Kildare. We had spent the morning catches glimpses of the golf here and there, making our way around the course in wet mucky conditions (for the spectators). Quick stop off for the breakfast of champions (Irish breakfast roll) and decided to stand beside the 14th tee box when up stolls one PCasey, 20 sec conversation with his caddy later he has the 7 iron in hand...................beautiful strike and hole in one!! Not only did he drop his club to the floor but I lost half my overpriced breakfast in disbelief.......Sensational memory!!

Having spent my sporting youth in Whitby ( North Yorks) in the days before foreign fishermen invaded the North Sea, I thought I understood the meaning of the word "gutted". That was before 1999 when self and wife witnessed Jesse James'' gang achieve an unbeatable position in Brookline, and then lose. We were a rope''s width away from Ben Crenshaw as he carried the Ryder Cup back to the locker rooms from where the European caddies tossed a few souvenirs into the crowd of disbelieving faithfuls. My "trophy" was a white LH golf glove which is now inscribed " Boston-1999- Gutted ". The happier memories include the huge sporting gesture of the late great Payne Stewart in conceding to Monty in the singles. The everlasting message, relevant to all sportspersons, is to be aware of the enormous chasm which exists between firstly getting into a winning position, and secondly being able to convert that into a WIN. Can''t wait for Celtic Manor. C''mon Europe.

Darren Clarke crying on Tigers shoulder at the K-Club, Clarke & Jimenez sharing a cheeky stogie, Olazabal Dancing, Mcginley getting dumped in the water, Casey''s Hole-in-One, JB Holmes trying to play the whole course with a driver & pitching wedge...these are quite recent but the list could go on & on!!! Roll on October....

I wasn''t actually there, but the inspiration to get me into golf at the age of 9 was Nick Faldo''s hole in one in the singles at the 13th hole at The Belfry in 1993

Darren Clarke walking onto the tee crying, that made me feel uplifted and not sad. What a great role model he has been to mortal golfers and as a great parent at the same time. Jason Swain from London.
