In the last two seasons the Italian Molinari brothers have won one event together and seven events in total. And yet, although those six individual titles were all won by Edoardo, it was Francesco who qualified for his Ryder Cup debut by right. That is testament to Francesco's consistency which is, in turn, testament to his reliable long game which is one of the most relentless and accurate on the European Tour. When he and his brother won the World Cup at the end of 2009 it proved that they have the potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the Ryder Cup. They not only thrived in fourballs but also in foursomes, and clearly enjoyed combining to take on the world. Francesco also impressed on his Seve Trophy debut, winning three of his five matches on debut in 2009. He can also lay claim to experience of defeating the might of the USA, having won the Palmer Cup in 2004, an event played between teams of European and American college golfers.
