After a disappointing 2009 and a slow start to 2010, Singh was just beginning to hit his straps again when a back injury forced him to withdraw from the final two events of the Florida Swing. Before being sidelined Singh had finished fourth at the Honda Classic and 11th in the WGC-CA Championship and, on both occasions, had displayed his still imperious play from tee to green although his putting woes remained. So, if given a clean bill of health, can he continue the good work here? Since winning the Masters in 2000 Singh has been ruthlessly consistent at Augusta and last year's tied 30th was the first time he'd finished worse than 18th since winning the green jacket. However, the suspicion lingers that his win in 2000 was aided by the heavy rain which slowed the greens down so on a fast-running Augusta his chances would be reduced.
