Woods expands Masters build-up

World number two Tiger Woods has confirmed his participation in the World Golf Championships Accenture Match Play Championship, the Honda Classic and the World Golf Championships Cadillac Championship.

The 14-time major champion has won the WGC-Accenture Match Play on three occasions - the last being in 2008 - but was knocked out in the second round by Nick Watney in 2012.

This year's event starts on February 20.

Woods charged into contention at the Honda Classic last year after a final round 62 - which included an eagle on the final hole - but finished two strokes behind winner Rory McIlroy in a tie for second.

"It's a really good tournament, and it does a lot for the community. I like the golf course, and I came pretty close last year. It's part of a busy stretch for me, and I want to continue playing well," Woods noted on his website.

"I'm excited to be playing in The Honda Classic again.

McIlroy will also be playing at the PGA National on February 28, where his win last year propelled him to the top ranking position, where he has been for the last 26 weeks.

The WGC-Cadillac Championship is another Woods confirmed on his 2013 schedule as part of his preparation for the Masters at Augusta.

He has won the event on six occasions previously - 1999, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 - but withdrew 11 holes in the final round due to an injury to his left Achilles in 2012.

The WGC-Cadillac begins on March 7 at the TPC Blue Monster, where Justin Rose is the defending champion.
