Snedeker reaches career high

Brandt Snedeker moved up to a career-best fourth on the latest world rankings after winning at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend.
The 32-year-old American is arguably the form golfer in the world currently after claiming two runners-up places and a third place - along with the win at Pebble Beach - so far this season, and the 117.02 ranking points he has gained thus far is more than double that of any other player.
A more compelling race for ranking points took place further down the list, however.
With Phil Mickelson already confirmed as a non-starter, the top 65-ranked players qualify automatically for the World Golf Championships and several players were on the cusp of qualification on Sunday.
Joburg Open winner Richard Sterne booked his place after he moved up to 56th on the latest ranking and Irishman Shane Lowry hung on to the final spot after an, at the time, seemingly random birdie by Patrick Reed at Pebble Beach.
Reed's birdie moved him into a tie for seventh place alongside Fredrik Jacobson, who needed to finish seventh on his own to secure the 65th rank. Instead, he missed out by a mere .0002 points.
The seeds for the February 20-24 World Golf Championships event will only be finalized after this week's Northern Trust Open.
The world top 10 are in order: Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Snedeker, Justin Rose, Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott, Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson and Mickelson.
