Snedeker bags Pebble Beach win

Brandt Snedeker: On a hot streak

Having already registered three top-three finishes this year, Brandt Snedeker finally went all the way at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Sunday.

The reigning FedEx Cup champion headed into the final day level with James Hahn on 12 under, but Hahn was unable to keep up with the pace as Snedeker fired a final-round 65 to finish on 19 under and claim a two-shot lead.

The 32-year-old got off to a fast start, eagling the second and adding birdies on four, six and seven before a bogey at the ninth saw him go out in 32.

Further birdies at 10 and 11 quickly erased any memory of the dropped shot and a two on the par-three 17th made sure the victory was safe.

"Just hard to put into words, to have a stretch of golf like I had the last couple of months," Snedeker said after his win. "Something you dream about. Something you think that you can do, but you don't really know until you actually put it together. And I have.

"I'm really enjoying this, and hopefully can parlay this into the best year of my career."

Chris Kirk was the next best two shots back. The 27-year-old will be cursing an opening-round 71 which put him on the back foot, with a 64 on Saturday and a closing 66 just not quite enough to mount a victory charge.

Third-round co-leader Hahn was never able to really get going on Sunday, despite birding two of the first four holes. A bogey at five and a birdie at the 16th provided the only other deviations on his card as he was forced to settle on 14 under and a share of third with Kevin Stadler and Jimmy Walker.
