Former world number one Martin Kaymer takes a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge after shooting a solid 70 to end Saturday on five under par.

Low scores have been hard to come by at the Gary Player Country Club and only four shots separate the top six players after the third round at Sun City. In testing conditions, Kaymer kept his head for most of the round and despite one bogey, managed a good round which included three birdies.

South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen might have been under the weather somewhat during his 72 in the second round, but was back to his best on Saturday and thrilled the crowd during his round of 69. He stormed through the field with crisp iron shots, solid drives and excellent putts to close the round at four under, one shot behind the German Kaymer.

Overnight leader Paul Lawrie had a round of contrasting fortunes though and fired a 75 to finish four strokes behind the leader.

Another South African, Charl Schwartzel, is in third place on three under after a carding a round of 70, which included birdies on the first and third holes.

Reigning double champion Lee Westwood remained in contention to defend his title and is on two under par at the 54-hole point after his round of 70. While the Englishman was far from his polished best, he chipped excellently throughout the round to keep himself in touch with the leaders.

The other Englishman in the field, Justin Rose, responded well from his 75 on Friday with a fine round of 69 on Saturday, but is five over par going into the final round and is unlikely to trouble the leaders.
