Woods backed to miss Masters

Woods - will we see him at Augusta?

Coral have cut the price of Tiger Woods missing the US Masters to 11/10 after being inundated with bets from punters who believe that the world number one's "indefinite break" might be longer than expected.

Woods had been as big as 9/2 not to line up in the opening major of 2010 but Coral have continually been forced to shorten those odds.

Tiger has also been backed to quit golf completely before the end of 2010, his price being chopped from 33/1 to 16/1.

"We, along with most golf fans, expected the break to be a few weeks, but with the shrewd money we keep seeing, it looks like his return could now be months away, if at all," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

Woods is 2/9 to break the record of 18 majors set by Jack Nicklaus, and is 3/1 not to. He has 14 under his belt so far.

Paddy Power have even more doubts about Tiger's participation at Augusta. They offer even money that he misses out.

The Irish bookies are also betting on which will be his first tournament back.

They offer 3/1 US Masters, 5/1 WGC Accenture Match Play, 4/1 US Open, 10/1 WGC CA Championship, 9/2 Arnold Palmer Invitational, 8/1 The Memorial, 33/1 Dubai Desert Classic, 18/1 The Players Championship, 9/4 Any other event after the 2010 US Open.
