Wedge works wonders for wilson
As he went to putt on the 10th green Wilson noticed that the shaft of the club had bent.
He presumed it had happened when he banged the putter against his bag coming off the ninth, and as he had altered the club and would infringe the rules of golf if he continued using it, he had to switch to a wedge.
Amazingly Wilson birdied the next three holes, including one from 20 feet, and finished with a 69 for nine under.
It left him six behind Swede Robert Karlsson.
Afterwards playing partner Ignacio Garrido showed his club-repairing skills, using a golf towel to heat up the shaft and then bend it back.
