Snedeker moves one clear in Canada
Brandt Snedeker will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the RBC Canadian Open after firing a 66 on Saturday.
The 35-year-old's six-under-par round saw him move to nine under for the tournament, one clear of world number two Dustin Johnson and impressive amateur Jared du Toit. Steve Wheatcroft and Alex Cejka are a further shot back.
Snedeker made a fast start in Ontario on Saturday, sinking five birdies on the bounce from second to the sixth to surge up the leaderboard. After bogeys at the 11th and 15th, a strong finish with birdie at 16 and an eagle-three at the last saw the American move into the outright lead.
It was an up and down day for Johnson who carded his second consecutive 71. The U.S. Open champion's round of one under included four birdies and three bogeys.
Johnson is joined on eight under by Canadian amateur Du Toit who is aiming to become the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson triumphed at the 1991 Northern Telecom Open. Du Toit sunk a 40-foot eagle putt at the 18th for a round of 70.
Eight birdies, an eagle and two bogeys saw Wheatcroft vault up 43 places on the leaderboard and into a share of fourth on the back of a 64. He's joined on seven under by Germany's Cejka who carded a 69.
Martin Laird (68), Cameron Tringale (69), Matt Kuchar (70), Chad Campbell (70), Ricky Barnes (71), and Jon Rahm (72) are next best, three shots off the pace.
Luke List, who began the day in a share of the lead, came unstuck in a round of 77 that included a triple bogey and two double bogeys on the back nine.
