Former Open champion David Duval will be using Nike gear once more in 2013, two years after splitting with the company.
Duval was the first Nike golfer to lift a major trophy when he triumphed at Royal Lytham and St. Annes in 2001, but has seen his fortunes fade in recent years, so much so that he lost his Tour card in 2010.
With a string of injuries behind him, Duval will now set about climbing the world rankings with Nike's help.
"I could not be more excited to once again become a Nike athlete," said Duval. "Nike Golf has been a major player in the success I have had throughout my career. I am thrilled to return to the Swoosh and continue my career with a brand that focuses on developing innovative products."
Global director of sports marketing operations for Nike Golf, Mark Thaxton, expressed his delight at having the 41-year-old back in the company's stable.
"We have always had a great relationship with David and are happy to welcome him back to the Nike family," said Thaxton.
