Donald eager to end major drought

Former world number one Luke Donald's main focus this year will be putting himself in a position to win major championships.
Donald, the current world number three, has just signed a multi-year extension with Japanese club manufacturers Mizuno - a partnership that has seen him win 12 tournaments on the European and PGA Tour since first signing with them in 2003.
Unlike Rory McIlroy, the 35-year-old has opted against making a big-money move to a new club manufacturer, and believes all the pieces are already in place as he goes searching for that elusive first major championship victory.
Donald spent 56 weeks at the top of the rankings, but his focus now is more on breaking his major duck than being world number one.
"I feel as if I am playing as well as ever at this stage in my career," said Donald. "Over the next few years I want to be in a position to win major championships and to continue to improve.
"We've refined my Mizuno equipment in the last couple of seasons and I'm really happy with what I have in the bag right now, so it gives me great pleasure to extend this relationship."
Donald starts his 2013 campaign at the Northern Trust Open in California, starting on February 14, and is eyeing a perfect build-up to the year's first major at Augusta.
The Englishman has been the flag bearer for Mizuno, and president Akito Mizuno, who is also the grandson of the company's founder Rihachi Mizuno, is happy for that to continue.
"Luke Donald and Mizuno share a special long-term relationship that we are delighted to continue," he said.
"Luke has become a very special friend to Mizuno over the years. He perfectly represents our company, and we look forward to what Luke will accomplish in the next few years."
