Scott Jamieson won a three-man play-off to claim the weather-affected Nelson Mandela Championship.
The Scot picked up his first victory on the European Tour after beating off the challenge of Steve Webster on the second play-off hole after Edoardo de la Riva had lost out on the first extra hole.
The trio had been tied on seven-under-par after two rounds, with the tournament reduced to 36 holes after no play was possible on Thursday or Friday, with the Royal Durban course waterlogged.
Jamieson notched up a 57 to get himself into contention, although the round will not stand as the Tour's first sub-60 score due to the course conditions.
Local favourite Tim Clark had a chance to join the trio in the play-off but a double-bogey on the penultimate hole when he had a share of the lead ended his hopes.
De la Riva was left to rue both a bogey on the final hole and a failure to get up and down on the first extra hole as he was the first to lose his chance of landing the title.
Having failed to land a 30-foot putt for victory at the same hole, Webster then hooked his drive at the second play-off hole into the thick rough from where he could not recover.
Jamieson did what was required to secure the win, one that had special meaning for a number of reasons.
"I knew I needed a fast start and was lucky enough to get that," said the 29-year-old.
"It's an honour to win a tournament like this. Getting your name on any European trophy is a fantastic achievement, but it's a bit more special with someone like Nelson."
