Forest Pines is best course in east of England
Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort, in Broughton, Lincs, has won the title of ‘best golf course in the east of England' in the 2018 Today's Golfer travel awards.
The renowned four-star resort – managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH), the UK's leading hotel management company – saw off some stiff competition for the award, including, somewhat strangely, the four-time Ryder Cup host, the Belfry, which is actually located in the West Midlands!
And golfers may enjoy the course for themselves in 2018, from £165 for a two-night dinner, bed-and-breakfast break.
The annual awards are determined by readers' votes, and the hotel's general manager, Michael Lavizani, believes such an accolade is recognition for recent investment and the hard work of staff at the resort.
He explained: "Any award is a thrill but when it's one determined by the people we have most contact with, the customer, then it means just a little bit more. It shows that the investment recently made in the course and equipment and the efforts put in on a daily basis by the greenkeeping team are appreciated by golfers – and they should be justifiably proud of that."
Forest Pines recently reported continued growth in its golf business, despite a perceived drop in the national participation levels, allowing the resort to invest a substantial six-figure sum into its golf operation, with a redesign of the first hole and a new fleet of 36 golf buggies.
Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort offers 27 superb holes of golf, which meander through majestic pines in three loops of nine – and it is as challenging as it is beautiful.
Located a short distance from junction four of the M180 and nestled in 190 acres of beautiful woodland, its position makes it ideal for golfers in north Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humberside.
As the largest golf resort operator in the UK, RBH manages 10 Championship and tournament golf courses across the UK, hosting events from the European Tour, European Seniors Tour, Ladies European Tour and the PGA.
