ECCO better than ever

Danish footwear giant ECCO have unveiled new, men's and women's footwear ranges for 2013 that are bound to have golfers clamouring for their arrival in the shops.

Yes, they are that impressive, both style-wise and from a technical and quality point of view. Indeed, ECCO's golf footwear ranges have never been better.

The men's range includes a new Tour Hybrid model that fuses classic styling with those modern, spikeless soles that helped their dynamic Golf Street range revolutionize the golf footwear market over the past couple of years.

And their new women's range which, as with the 2013 men's range, will begin to be shipped globally towards the end of the year and early January, features a new mix of styles, colours and technologies that will not only help both your serious and casual golfer to maximize her on-course performances, but will also serve to elevate the fashionable look the shoes will present in situations away from the course.

The men's range

Getting back to the new men's Tour Hybrid, we should start by saying that it has been built to sit atop ECCO's award-winning Street EDTS (ECCO Dynamic Traction System) outsole that also features in the hugely successfully BIOM Hybrid..

This boasts a patented configuration of approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800-plus traction angles constructed from TPU, a highly durable, wear-resistant material, that provides a superior grip in all conditions.

"Each year," Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO, is reported to have said this week, "Our innovations set the bar even higher and gain ECCO legions of new fans worldwide who appreciate the unique comfort, performance and style characteristics of our shoes."

This will certainly be the case with the new 2013 range which world-class professionals Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn,

Thorbjørn Olesen, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Bradley Dredge and Andreas Hartø will be wearing in their 2013 campaigns on the US PGA and European Tours

ECCO say that the Golf Street - the shoe that started a revolution - will continue to evolve in the Sport, Luxe, Textile, Camel and Hydromax versions while the BIOM Hybrid will be launched in a variety new colors and upper patterns.

And in line with this approach, their new Golf Street Life continues to be one of the most striking golf shoes ever produced.

Available now in regular and bootie models, it showcases supremely elegant leathers with patent and glitter highlights taken directly from the boulevards of the world's fashion capitals.

The Golf Street Life is also packed with technology including the Street hybrid outsole that functions perfectly on nearly any surface.

In the meantime the Golf Street collection remains bright, funky and fun with each model featuring ECCO's famed hybrid outsole with approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800-plus traction angles.

"Our golf business was initially built through the women's market and 2013 marks a glorious return to these roots with a collection that is undoubtedly our strongest yet," Waack insisted this week.

Among the women stars who will wear ECCO shoes on Tour this year is LPGA standout Belén Mozo.
