Rife join putter revolution

Rife Putters have joined the long-handled putter revolution, it has been announced.

They have added a wide range of belly and broomstick putters to their already extensive range of conventional putters which had already been one of golf's standouts because of the company's various patented technologies including RollGrove and the LieAline Custom Fitting System.

On tour, the use of belly and broomstick putters is not a new concept, but it is the recent adoption by some of the leading professionals which has caused a stir and resulted in lengthy discussions amongst golfers and the sport's administrators over the past year.

Keegan Bradley's first-ever Major victory with a belly putter at last year's US PGA championship saw the sale of these and other long-handled putters trebled in 2011.

Not content with merely producing a standard range of long-handled putters, Rife has taken the concept a step further and set itself apart from other brands by offering a custom fit option for its customers.

Golfers understand the benefit of playing with clubs that have been fitted specifically for them and the putter is no different.

Indeed, although the putter is the most used club in the bag, it is rarely custom fitted or fitted correctly.

Retailers will have the use of an extendable putter which can be used in store or on the putting green so that the perfect length of belly or long putter can be found for individual customers.

If you couple this together with Rife's LieAline Fitting System to set the correct lie angle of a putter and it will be possible to have a putter that is perfect for the golfers swing, shape and size.

Rife are embracing this new putter trend and like them or loathe them, they say, it looks as if belly and broomstick putters are set to stay.

As you would expect from Rife - all models also feature the RollGroove face technology for a quick, true roll.

The belly range features the Barbados, Deep Blue and Two Bar Hybrid Mallet putters with an SRP of £179 while the broomstick range includes the Two Bar Hybrid Mallet putter with an SRP of £199.

About Rife

The secret to the company's success lies in its various patented technologies including RollGrove, the LieAline Custom Fitting System.

Rife Putters LLC is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology, which has been patented by the company as RollGrove since 1997.

Precisely spaced milled grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll to create the truest "no skid" roll in golf, no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.

The LieAline Fitting System teaches players to automatically set-up to every putt in the same, natural set-up position.

Using a very subtle vertical notch located on the back edge of the top line players can automatically tell whether the putter is set-up to suit their putting stroke.

If the player can see the entire white sight line then the putter is set-up perfectly. If not, the LieAline Bending tool can be used to bend the hosel into the ideal position for its user.

Once this has been done, the player can benefit from a more consistent and repeatable stroke path every time by using the sight line.
