The European Tour stayed in the east for the Barclays Singapore Open, where Rory McIlroy didn't win, but sewed up the Race to Dubai money list title with a couple of tournaments to spare.

The achievement underlines just what a fantastic year it has been for the Irishman, who has well and truly solidified his reputation as the best golfer in the world.

McIlroy also won the PGA Tour money list title, equaling Luke Donald's feat only one year after the Englishman became the first player to achieve the elusive double.

The Singapore title itself was decided in a play-off between Italian young gun Matteo Manessero and former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen missed a five-footer that would have given him the title on the second play-off hole, and Manassero made him pay for that error on the third.

The PGA Tour wrapped up for the year with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic, which will be remembered for the trials and tribulations faced by eventual winner Charlie Beljan.

Most players are made to work hard for their maiden victory, but few have to contend with trips to the hospital and feeling like they had "a chance to die" inbetween.

Here's Beljan on day two, shooting a superb 64 only to find himself on a stretcher moments later.

In the end, Beljan shook off the shortness of breath and elevated heart rate that had doctors advising him not to carry on playing, and reaped the rewards of that decision with a two-stroke victory in Florida.
