Travesties of justice

Two travesties of justice in two days! It's more than any mortal man should have to suffer.

The first being the fisherman Pablo Larrazabal winning the French Open and cleaning out my betting balance, which was hard earned on Ladies Day at Royal Ascot and topped by one my greyhounds doing the business at Wimbledon on Friday Night. (Had a falling out with one the other owners so shares up for sale if anyone's interested)

Larrazable used the putter only 103 times compared to the 117 strokes of those finishing in second and third places. Surely never has there been a more outrageous performance with the flat stick.

Then whilst licking my wounds Kenny Perry, my ante post pick and holder of my pension fund, decides he can't be bothered to turn up for The Open in two weeks time.

I used the English version of the unprintable word Spanish Sergio Garcia barked out this morning when hitting a drive to the wrong side of the fairway at the European Open in Kent.

I could take out my anger like his playing partner Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano who snapped his six iron in rage at a loose approach shot on the ninth.

I'm not sure if he took out more extreme measures whilst walking to the back nine as when I came back from my tea break to catch up with them on the tenth green he had neither a bag or caddie.

The European Open this week in Kent will see a birdie barrage as the four par fives are easily reachable in two and with no par four measuring over 465 yards the players will be hitting wedges into a lot of the holes.

I'm thinking that on Friday with only light winds forecast and after a night of heavy rain we may even see someone go close to shooting 59.

It won't be me judged on last week's form at Swinley, Nizels and the Buckinghamshire.

As I was standing on the seventeenth tee box playing air golf and imagining how I would tackle the 225 yards par three (probably with a driver) Stuart Dowsett, the Professional at Sundridge Park Golf Club in Bromley took pity on my pitiful looking swing and offered me a free lesson as long as I would give him some tips.

An offer I'm going to take him up on in a couple of hours

It was a case of shoe on the other foot at Nizels on Friday where once again I played in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters Pro-am.

My partner was eighteen year old James Wilson and I hoped to pass on the same words of wisdom that took last year's playing partner Matthew Haines onto winning two of the four junior majors and this years Lytham Trophy.

Unfortunately his text message on Monday read; 'Harry! Those tips u and hugh gave me didn't work! Had putt 2go out in -4 and then went and shot +4! Early bus home.'

Talking of tips I'm feeling back on track having backed Andy Murray to beat Gasquet at Wimbledon. Mind you it wasn't with out a little sweat and I didn't hold out much hope as I took my seat on Centre Court when Gasquet was serving for the match at the top of the third.

So this week Richard Green is my man at a juicy 40-1 to wipe out the weekends bitter taste
